APRIL 20, 2015


A meeting of the Ravenna Township Planning Commission was called to order on Monday, April 20, 2015 at 7:00 by Chairman Jack Link.    Members present were: Link, Roger Peacock, Mike Gillard, Stanley Wagner, Bruce Yonker, Zoning Administrator Tony Zaidel, Recording Secretary Penny Sherman and 7 people were in attendance.  Pledge to the flag was led by Chairman Link.

Motion by Link to open the Public Hearing at 7:00 p.m., support by Hoyle.  Motion carried.

Purpose of the Public Hearing was to present and discuss 2 Special Use Applications that have been received.

  1. Steven Maleski-Mr. Maleski presented his Special Use Application to construct a new home on a single parcel of property prior to the demolition of the existing home. He explained that he would be removing the existing home approximately 90 days after the final occupancy permit was approved for the new home he will be constructing. The new home will sit off the road between 1400-1500 feet.  The driveway will have a turnaround at the end and be wide at one point for two tanker trucks.  Questions were asked and answered by Mr. Maleski.
  2. Laura Andrews-Mrs. Andrews wishes to obtain a Property Line Adjustment on a parcel of property that she owns. The property line adjustment would make one parcel 47 ½ acres and the other parcel 2 ½ acres.   Questions were asked and answered by Mrs. Andrews and her family.

Public Hearing closed at 7:29 p.m.

Chairman Link reopened the meeting – Motion by Wagner, support by Yonker to approve minutes from the meeting held March 16, 2015.  Motion carried.

New Business: Application from Steve Maleski discussed.  Motion by Gillard, support by Wagner to approve Special Use Application by Steve Maleski to allow his existing home to remain while building his new home until 90 days after receiving the final occupancy permit on the new home and presenting to the Planning Commission a $10,000.00 assurity bond guaranteeing removal of the existing home subject to approval of the driveway structure by the Zoning Administrator.  Motion carried.  Application from Laura Andrews was discussed.  Motion by Peacock, support by Yonker to approve a property line adjustment of 2 ½ acres off from the South boundary line to make one parcel 47 ½ acres and the other parcel 2 ½ acres.  Motion carried.

Unfinished Business: Master Plan – changes and updates to the Master Plan were discussed.

Public Comments: None.

Next meeting will be held on Monday, May 18, 2015.
